Berlin Loudspeaker Orchestra
2021 – Present
Loudspeaker Orchestra is an acousmatic concert format in which an audience sits in a room filled with dozens of speakers.
These speakers take many different shapes and forms and subsequently serve different compositional roles, just as the string section in a symphony orchestra plays a different role than the percussion. Some speakers are hi-fidelity, while other speakers are just vibrating sheets of metal, or tiny speakers placed inside of drums.
Through the use of physical space and a wide variety of timbres, composers can create pieces that are entirely unique to the specific room they’re made in. To experience it, one must hear it in person.
